Thanks for stopping by to grab some great shots of the action, Mason! I guess we were in the right place at the right time!

We completed our bunker full of finely ground high moisture corn at the dairy last week, made a small dent in our soybean harvest on Saturday, and have now been drying corn with the wetter weather we’ve had this week. Hopeful for some more sunny days to get those soybeans fit again, but we’ll keep drying corn in the meantime. The harvest efforts continue either way!

2023 corn silage is a wrap at the dairy as of yesterday afternoon! A total of 1,488 loads were scaled in over 11 days. We’re restocked with quality feed for the herd and are thankful that yields turned out to be much better than expected, despite the dry growing season this year.

A big thank you to all our employees, neighbors and family members who helped make it all possible; operators running long hours, evening meals prepared for the crew, and the many who helped cover the big mountain of feed in the end! Job well done!

Thanks also to T.Wollitz Farm Photography for capturing and sharing these shots of the action from last Friday!

What a great day for sharing about some of the latest technology and new innovations circulating the ag industry! Today, we were able to host farmers from Wisconsin and Illinois for a 360 yield center field day, with live demos of many of the 360 yield products we implement at the farm.
Growing more grain with less fertilizer and less input cost, irrigating more effectively, and harvesting with minimal loss are all things that make us smile, and are achieved by several 360 tools that help us out.
It’s a fun time to be in the ag industry!

With 3.5” of rain this past week, the harvest efforts have been parked, with hopes for some sunshine to continue the progress next week! All of the beans have been harvested and the high moisture corn bunker is filled up. We’ve made a start on drying corn, but have a lot to go yet! Tyler Wollitz was in the neighborhood this past Wednesday and grabbed some great shots of the action! Thanks for sharing these, Tyler!

We've been busy side-dressing corn here at the farm over the past week, and there's certainly a lot of nice looking corn around the area! We hope that betweeen this 2nd fertilizer application and the recent rain showers, the corn will continue looking great throughout the growing season into a nice yeilding harvest.
By splitting the needed fertilizer for the season into two separate applications rather than a single upfront application, the corn plants are better able to utilize and take up those needed nutrients, especially during later stages of growth as the plants work to fill ears later this summer. We're also utilizing the Y-drop system from 360-yield center, which places a band of liquid fertilizer right next to the plant on either side, where it's able to utilize the fertilizer most efficintly. With the Y-drops, we're able to use less fertilizer in total with less environmental loss in the long run.
Utilizing new technology on the farm is always fun, but us farmers certainly can't do it all on our own.. "Man plants, but God grants!"

We received a visit from the talented T.Wollitz Farm Photography while chopping this past Saturday, and he certainly captured some neat shots of the action! Thanks Tyler Wollitz!
