I usually don't get shaken up all that much when a celebrity dies. Like, it's sad and everything, but it never really hits close to home.

Dolly Parton, though... that one hit completely different.

Country music was pretty much the soundtrack to my childhood. Every single night, after I’d fall asleep, my grandma would sneak into my room and quietly switch my radio dial to the country station. I grew up listening to those songs in my sleep without even realizing how much it was shaping me. It really became a core part of who I am.

Losing Miss Dolly just hurts. She gave so much to country music, but honestly, calling her a contributor doesn't even feel like enough.

She WAS country music.

RIP to the legendary queen of country music 🤠

Why We Don’t Sell to Pet Homes: A Hard Look at Rabbit Husbandry 🐇

It’s a question we get asked often, and it’s a policy we stand by firmly. We have made the strict decision not to sell our rabbits to pet homes, and our experiences this summer have only solidified exactly why we do this.

Recently, we brought in a handful of new rabbits to add to our program. Heartbreakingly, at least four of these animals arrived suffering from neglect and highly preventable conditions.

Here is the reality of what we’ve had to treat:

* Severe Parasite Infestations: Left completely unchecked.
* Overgrown Nails: So excessively long that the rabbits could no longer move or stand properly.
* Urine and F***l Scald: Open, painful hot sores caused by sitting in their own waste.
* Dirty, Matted Fur: The direct result of having absolutely no escape from filthy cage environments.

Unfortunately, rabbits are among the most chronically neglected animals. Just like large farm animals, rabbits are livestock. They require strict, consistent animal husbandry, which includes routine nail trims, health checks, and proper cage management.

This is exactly why we highly advocate for wire-bottom cages. When managed correctly, they allow waste to drop through and away from the animal, preventing the devastating urine scald, f***l buildup, and matted fur we see far too often in solid-bottom setups.

By refusing to sell to the casual pet market, we are doing our absolute best not to contribute to the cycle of rabbit overpopulation and the widespread neglect they so often face in unprepared environments.

Looking to Add to Your Program?

If you are seriously interested in acquiring a rabbit from our lines for a dedicated breeding program, please reach out. We are always happy to connect and work with other homesteads, farms, and breeders who are raising livestock with purpose, intent, and exceptional care.

Heritage Cross Ewe Lamb 🐑 (Shetlandic)

We are offering a gorgeous, ~5-month-old Shetland/Icelandic cross ewe lamb to the perfect home. She carries an elegant build, clean face, and sweet disposition.

Breed: Shetland/Icelandic Heritage Cross
Age: ~5 Months
Color: Cream/warm white with beautiful moorit (brown) spectacles around her eyes
Price: 350

Why She Stands Out:
While she is being sold as an unregistered commercial ewe, she represents the absolute best of these ancient, hardy heritage breeds. Her wool quality is outstanding! Boasting a dense, incredibly fine fleece that will be a dream for handspinners and fiber artists. She would make an exceptional foundation ewe for a homestead or a top-quality addition to an existing spinning flock.

Health & Care:
She is in prime condition and ready to go. She is completely up to date on all her care, including:
UTD on CDT vaccine
Recent hoof trim
Weaned

Please send a direct message if you are interested in adding this beautiful girl to your pasture! Serious inquiries only, please. 🐑✨

We recently took in this Bantam Cochin rooster, and he has officially selected "violence" as his primary personality trait.

He’s tiny, he’s fluffy, he's wearing boots, and he’s fully convinced he IS the apex predator of Frenchline Farms. Pretty sure he’s currently plotting how to overthrow the horses next.

Drop some name suggestions below for a tiny bird with a massive ego! The more ridiculous, the better 👇

❄️ Game Changer in the Rabbitry! 🐇

Last week we added cooling tiles to our setup, and to say I’m impressed is an understatement. The benefits showed up almost immediately!

➡️ Here is why these simple tiles are our new favorite farm hack:

☆ Effortless Maintenance - Every morning, I just spray them down to clean them off.

☆ All Day Cooling - In return for that quick morning rinse, they stay nice and cool for the vast majority of the day!

☆ Beat the Heat - It gives the rabbits a perfectly chilled, solid place to stretch out and relax when temperatures rise.

☆ Bonus Benefits - They double as an awesome enrichment activity and naturally help keep their nails worn down and in check!

Sometimes the simplest additions make the biggest difference in animal comfort. 🙂

Would you give cooling tiles a try in your Rabbitry? Let us know in the comments! ⬇️

Our hearts are heavy today, but our determination is fierce. 💔🐑 Yesterday, we drove across the state to pick up 20 sheep coming from a heartbreaking situation. Their previous owner made poor choices and is facing prison time, and unfortunately, these innocent animals paid the price of that neglect.

When we first saw them, it truly broke our hearts. They are buried under massive, heavy, matted coats of overgrown wool, and they are desperately in need of good nutrition, dewormer, and vaccinations...but even through the dirt and neglect, we looked into their eyes and saw the beautiful souls underneath. Among them are a resilient ram and several sweet, innocent babies who deserve a far better start to life than this.

It is going to be a long, exhausting road to get these girls and their babies back to health, but we promise you this: we are going to do everything in our power to give them the beautiful turnaround they deserve.

We can’t do it alone. We are rolling up our sleeves and starting the massive job of shearing and vaccinating tomorrow. If you have a heart for animals and an extra set of hands to lend, we could truly use your help.❤️‍🩹

Please drop a comment or send us a message if you can join us tomorrow. And even if you can't make it, please keep this flock in your thoughts. Stay tuned over the next few months - we can’t wait to show you their transformations! ✨
