🦋 A Little Fall Magic at Black Dog Farm 🍂

Every fall, we’re blessed with hundreds of beautiful Monarch butterflies passing through our farm on their long journey south.

They gather in our trees overnight and spend their days fluttering through the wildflowers, stopping to rest and refuel before continuing on.

It’s one of those simple, beautiful reminders of just how special life on the farm can be. ❤️

Safe travels, little beauties! 🦋

❤️ Nigerian Dwarf Doe Available — Currently in Milk

Farm life isn’t always easy, and unfortunately, we had a little heartbreak overnight.

Our 1-year-old Nigerian Dwarf doe delivered twins that we believe arrived a bit too early.
Sadly, neither baby survived.

This was her first freshening, and while it wasn’t the outcome we had hoped for, she is now in milk.

She is available to a new farm as a first-freshening milking doe. She is young, with plenty of potential ahead of her, and we’d love to find her a good home.

🐐 Breed: Nigerian Dwarf
❤️ Age: 1 year old
🥛 Milking status: First freshener, currently in milk
🌿 Availability: Available for a new farm
📍 Location: Black Dog Farm — Marlow, Oklahoma

If you’re interested in adding a young Nigerian Dwarf milking doe to your farm, please send us a private message for more details. ❤️

🌺I just love finding these little pieces of wisdom from days gone by. ❤️

This old page of household advice from a -Betty Crocker Cookbook 1961-is such a sweet reminder that even generations ago, people were trying to figure out how to get everything done without wearing themselves completely out.

Some of my favorites:

❤️ Harbor pleasant thoughts while working.

❤️ Get outdoors every day.

❤️ Take a few minutes to rest when you’re tired.

❤️ Find something refreshing to do, even if it’s just listening to music.

❤️ Remember that recreation is good for the soul.

And my favorite reminder of all? You don’t have to be on your feet every minute to be productive.

Life certainly hasn’t gotten any less busy, but maybe some of the best advice really is the simplest.

Sometimes I think we could all use a little more of this old-fashioned wisdom. ❤️

It’s 2 AM on the farm.

A shadow, a bucket full of warm bottles, and a faithful guardian dog by my side.

It’s the side of farming and ranch life most people never see.
The sleepless nights, the little lives depending on us, and the work that can’t wait until morning.

Nothing glamorous.
Just responsibility, a whole lot of love, and a little beauty in the quiet of the night. ❤️

🍂Fall babies are the sweetest kind of farm blessing!

Tiny hooves, fluffy little faces, and a whole lot of bouncing, bleating, and mischief! 🍁

Our fall lambs are stealing hearts and keeping us on our toes here at Black Dog Farm! 🐑❤️

🐾HANDSOME RANCH HANDS LOOKING FOR WORK! 🐾

We have a couple of handsome Anatolian Shepherd boys who are ready to start interviewing for their very own ranch jobs!

Qualifications include:
🐑 Future livestock protection specialists
🐐 Professional pasture patrol trainees
🐓 Suspicious chicken activity investigators
🐺 Aspiring coyote eviction officers
❤️ Extremely handsome, with absolutely no modesty whatsoever!

These boys are looking for a ranch or farm where they can grow up doing what they were bred to do — watch over livestock, patrol their territory, and take their jobs very seriously.

They may still be puppies, but they’ve got big paws, big personalities, and even bigger career ambitions!

🌾 Serious working homes only. Experience with livestock guardian breeds is a plus!

A beautiful blessing of rain here in Southern Oklahoma today! ❤️
There’s just something so peaceful about the sound of rain falling on the farm.
A little piece of heaven, and we’re soaking up every minute of it.
Turn up that volume ☔️ ☔️
