After a couple of events and waiting for the berries to be fully productive, we are ready to schedule times for you to come pick. You can text Phillip at 281-622-7447 to find a time that is good for you and the canes full. Because of the heat, we recommend morning or evening but we are flexible. Berries are $4 a pound. Looking forward to meeting you!

It has been a busy couple of weeks at Back Porch Farm and Ranch. We started the month enjoying the Wing Ding Festival in Marquez and entering our first Wing Cook Off. Next we hosted the Junior Master Gardeners Homeschool of Leon County to learn about blackberry growing and raised bed vegetables. We ended the class with some homemade blackberry ice cream. Last weekend, we were honored to be one of the yards featured at the Leon County Master Gardeners Yard Tour and had a great time meeting local Leon County and surrounding counties gardeners. Next up, berry season! Stay tuned for hours that we will be available for berry picking.

The countdown is on, and it’s time for our final planning meeting for the 2026 WingDing Festival! We’re inviting everyone who wants to help, volunteer, or be part of making this event a success to join us.

I often get asked what I make with the blackberries other than cobbler and jelly. Trust me, I have tried many things! I am going to share some of my favorite recipes during this blackberry season.

We will start with the most unique. Pictured is Blackberry Honey Jalapeno Fried Chicken. It was actually delish and got my families approval. This is an actual picture of what we made, so it is pretty easy to make if I succeeded at it!

There have been a lot of great stories being told on the back porch of Back Porch Farm and Ranch the last couple of weeks ... and lots of berries picked! We have been blessed to have been visited by some great groups the last couple of weeks and wanted to share some pictures. Thank you all for visiting Back Porch Farm and Ranch and sharing your time with us, we thoroughly enjoyed your company!
