Volume up for this one! Do you have the Merlin Bird ID app? It's free! When I bought Pibble Hill in 2016 it was full of weeds and pretty quiet in the morning. After a decade of feeding birds, adding water stations, adding flowers and clover and farm animals and other insect/pollinator attractions it's almost deafening in the morning. I'll add a photo to the comments of the birds you're hearing here, according to Merlin. Ooh, I just heard a crow too!

With the unexpected death of my tiny house tenant, Emily, last week, Pibble Hill is the forever home of her three pets now.

Introducing Bernie, a boonie (feral) dog from Guam, age 8, her Frienemy, Flapjack Murphy, a 17-year-old cat with serious orange tabby energy, and Chef Pawl, a rotund 20-year-old brown tabby with a love of all things FOOD.

They are disoriented by their mom's sudden departure - the cats were in the tiny house when Emily died - but they are super sweet animals and integrating well with my pack.

Emily is being cremated today and I'm hoping the family will allow us to sprinkle a few ashes near Theo's grave. She will be part of Pibble Hill forever, either way.
