Fox Run Farm and Rabbitry

Fox Run Farm and Rabbitry Farm based in Madison County. We offer eggs and coming sooner lamb and goat meat. At the end of 2015, part of our dream came true and we moved to Marshall NC.

In 2014, we started a dream of living in the country and having some goats for our Border Collie to herd. Right now the only livestock the dog is herding in chickens, but soon we will have goats for her (and maybe another BC....).

Attempt number 2 to keep Thor, the escape artist , in the pasture. The first one was installing a wooden post in a low area. That worked for a few weeks. Now we are adding a 6th wire that will be hot. Not sure if he is jumping the fence now or if there is another low spot he is crawling under.

A lot of new things happening on the farm! This weekend we finished the new chicken coop that will double as two breeding coops once I get the fence put in. Right now it’s a 8x4 coop that will fit everyone. We’ll build a matching one on the other side of the orchard that will also be a breeding coop.

I had to say goodbye to our first Livestock Dog, Jon Snow, today. He was just walking the fence line with me Tuesday and today he fell ill. He was the BEST first LGD I could have asked for. Never got out of the fences, even when they were laying on the ground. Helped with the three goat births he attended. General sweetest dog! He will be missed.
