Daily pick up available at the farm or PM to schedule your weekly drop off in Marshall, Leslie, or Clinton.

Our cows are rotationally grazed to ensure they always have the best forage, along with alfalfa supplement at each milking to maintain a healthy amount of fat and protein in every gallon. Every gallon is labeled with date of milking and with the "signature" of the cow that grazed gleefully to provide high quality milk for families throughout our community.

Hurray for heifers! This morning Kassi and her daughter, Bailey, both delivered happy, healthy heifers this morning. Both mamas are doing excellent and in rotation in the milk barn.

This was Bailey's first day of milking and she did it like an absolute professional. I mean, it IS in her blood. But, I still find it amazing how much just handling from birth can prepare the heifer for her first day on the job. She stood without being locked in the head gate, without kicking, and without flinching from the foreign feeling of machine milking- or any milking at all for that matter.

Update post on Brownie and Blondie: both are doing well.

Brownie has been unable to make enough milk for Blondie despite the large size of her udder. Looks can be deceiving... So Blondie is a bottle baby, which is just fine with her and the family. Bottle feeding calves is a yearly joy of a dairy farm. Blondie is eating well and keeping her mama company from the other side of the training pen.

Brownie's edema seems to be getting better and she's active, grazing, and drinking plenty of water. She's not even too upset that we took over feeding duties for her while she recovers. We will continue to monitor her closely and doctor her boo boos. During the hot afternoons, Brownie has been enjoying cold baths with the hose and some extra alfalfa to remind her she's a Queen 👑.

On Friday morning Brownie brought a beautiful heifer calf into the world!

Blondie seems like a fitting name. It just felt natural. She is half Brown Swiss and half Jersey, so she will be a great milker in a few years.

Brownie is being treated for retained placenta, but we performed the D&C this morning, and gave her medication to prevent infection. She's got good energy and is eating and drinking well. Everyone please send Brownie your good energy. We've decided this should be the old gal's last calf, so let's wish her good health into retirement. She'll be our friendly lawn mower after she raises Blondie. 👑🐮❤️

There's no milk yet, as Brownie has been our nurse cow and is accustomed to raising her babies. But, the good news is that Kassi and her heifer, Bailey, from a couple years ago are due any time, and Porsche will be soon to follow!

It's more summertime fun on and off the farm!

Early morning chores are a must because it is a scorcher!

We sent a steer to processing last week and he made a new PR for our farm: 1058 lbs on the rail!

Our sunflowers are also the tallest we've grown to date. They are getting close to 14-15 feet tall and they are taller than the house when in full sun. They are so pretty and great shade for the south wall of the house!

Geoff the Goose has been pumping iron in the gym with us, and he's getting big and strong. He's even grown into his big boy voice and feathers. He's a real honker now! 🥹🥲😊

Lincoln is also taking to the early morning farm life. He's adapting by taking siestas on Willie and Memaw after chores! 😂

The cows are dry for summer in preparation for calves this fall, but still have plenty of pasture raised eggs for sale.
