Super excited about the young up-and-coming horses in the barn right now. It has been a year of rebuilding but this team holds a lot of hope for the future.
K.M. Baliaretto “Layla” is coming off a super score at Flora Lea Farm LLC in the YEH 5y/o to tackle the YEH 5y/o class at Maryland 5 Star next.
Galway Breeze “Breeze” has been a quick study. I broke her last year for her owners and she is headed to the BN at Old Tavern Horse Trials next weekend.
Kelodiena W “Ali” is also coming along quite nicely and is gearing up for the Preliminary at Old Tavern Horse Trials next weekend.

“Daryl Mattern handled Kurt Martin's Record Year (Upsilon x Annabella) to the win of the Three-Year-Old Fillies class and the gray Holsteiner filly came in third overall with an 82.85. "She was the East Coast Champion 2-year-old last year. It's cool to come back and do it again. She's getting better and better. She's been backed and getting going," said Mattern.”

My horses have never been as comfy as they are in Success Equestrian pads. There’s never any bunching behind my leg, ensuring that the pads stay in place on even the most hard-to-fit horses.
With the 1.5cm open cell breathable foam cushion, I know that my horses are benefitting from extra shock absorption and stability.

An especially huge congratulations to Boyd Martin and On Cue for their historical win! Boyd is the first American to win a CCI5*-L since 2008! We were all holding our breath watching the pair gallop around the show jumping course ❤ 🍾🍾🍾
Well done everyone and especially to the our own Attwood crew who worked tirelessly to ensure the arenas were amazing for this impressive event!

sponsored rider Kurt Martin (Kurt Martin Eventing) grew up in Pennsylvania, where he competed in Pony Club and the North American Young Rider Championships fie times before deciding to enter the horse business full time upon finishing school. He worked in many barns to develop his experience before settling in Middleburg, VA. Kurt is known for his standard of excellence in training and instruction, putting horsemanship above all else.
Kurt has developed many young horses into top international competitors, competing at Rolex Kentucky, Blenheim Horse Trials, Great Meadow, and Rebecca Farm to name a few. Kurt will be riding both Compromise Elsewhere and D.A. Lifetime in the JFI CCI3*-L this week!
Compromise Elsewhere is an eight year old Irish Sport Horse who joined Kurt’s string in 2016. Career highlights include top finishes at Virginia Horse Trials, Stable View, Maryland Horse Trials, Rocking Horse OP, and Three Lakes OP.
D.A. Lifetime is a nine year old Holsteiner mare who came to the US from Germany in 2018. She has been moving up the levels with top finishes at Virginia Horse Trials, Horse Park of NJ OP, Red Hills, Ocala Winter, and Plantation Field.
