Tip for pink eye prevention in cattle (the donkey is just demonstrating the process 😆)
The downside to fly tags is while they're attached to the ear in close proximity to the eye they don't actually come in contacts with the face they do a good job treating the body when the cow licks at flies but leave the eyes themselves unprotected
This isn't my idea I saw it somewhere else but what we did was used a 5/16 drill bit to drill holes in the rubber top on this free Choice mineral feeder and clip fly tags on it about every 8" so when the cows come to lift the flap and lick the mineral they get fly repellent on their face reducing the spread of pink eye
Here's some available calves and we have a few cows we could part with also

Both heifers are the result of the same ET pairing with ZR Everett 57,965, who's bloodlines can be traced all the way back into the 1860's and the original Scottish herd book. He has produced us a long list of absolutely perfect offspring. Both will be weaned in September and be ready to leave from Circle AM Cattle Company Elkland, Missouri, in October .
