A look back at and H&S Loadmaster in Action!
These photos from around 1969-1970 take us to Meadow Brook Dairy in Wisconsin, where Kappelman family used Loadmaster forage boxes alongside FOX choppers during harvest.
Among those pictured is Frank "Fred" Lorentzen, a Danish exchange student who spent a year with the Kappelman family through a University of Wisconsin-Madison agricultural exchange program. During his stay, Fred gained firsthand experience with American agriculture, including unloading corn silage from a Loadmaster wagon into a silo.
The field photos also highlight how farming equipment was adapted to meet specific needs. The Loadmaster boxes worked alongside FOX choppers to separately harvest ear-lage and corn stalks, helping the farm fine-tune the nutritional balance of its feed.
Who remembers seeing these machines in action?
