Nestled in the rolling hills of scenic Warren County, Missouri, Falling Timber Farm is named after the creek that runs through it. The farm lies just north of the Missouri River at Marthasville. It has been in the family for over 100 years and for over three decades, FTF has been intent on making a lasting contribution to the Polled Hereford breed. Our 200 cow herd is the heart of our diversified farming operation. The cattle have been selected for the last 35+ years for performance traits as well as some non-quantitative traits such as teat size, pigment, disposition and soundness. FTF’s focus has always been on balanced trait selection and we have not chased the fads of the show ring, although we have bred many show winners over the years. The main focus is on being a seedstock supplier for the beef industry. We consider this website a chance for a short visit with you. You are always welcome to stop by in person! Feel free to contact us at anytime with questions about the availability of breeding stock.

MAGNIFICO: The Look, Performance & Genetics to Lead

Calving ease doesn’t have to mean giving up look, performance or added value.

A heifer-safe baldy maker with the presence of a true herd sire, MAGNIFICO combines phenotype, maternal strength and carcass merit in one complete package. A son of the now-deceased Perfecto 84F, he’s backed by a proven dam who records ratios of 101 for birth weight on four calves and 104 for weaning weight on three calves.

MAGNIFICO brings performance of his own, posting an impressive 143 IMF ratio at yearling ultrasound, while his current EPD profile adds even more proof:

⭐ Top 1% $BMI, MM & SCF
⭐ Top 1% MG & $BII
⭐ Top 3% CE

Homozygous Polled. Heifer-safe. Maternal. Performance-driven.

MAGNIFICO has the look and genetics to make an impact from the first calf crop forward.

4th grade field trip to the farm had an awesome day today! The kids rotated through 8 stations to learn about trees & wildlife, beef, electricity, streams, soils, rocks, & minerals, monarchs & pollinators, and farm safety & equipment. Thanks to the 4th graders (& moms for driving 😀) for coming to visit. Many volunteers donated their time to make today a success. Thanks to the Warrenton FFA Alumni for serving lunch and Missouri Beef Industry Council and Cuivre River Electric Coop for sponsoring. Thanks to the Warrenton FFA students and teacher, MooZou ShowMe Meat Education & Training, Central Electric, Missouri Department of Conservation, Soil & Water Conservation Districts, and Natural Resources Conservation Services. Big thanks to Jane Glosemeyer for her many years of volunteerism. I apologize if I missed anyone, we are grateful to all who helped today despite the heat and muggy weather.

This morning we hosted visitors from the United Kingdom of the Hereford Cattle Society with the Missouri Dept of Agriculture for an inbound trade mission. Always fun to visit with Hereford enthusiasts, especially when they’re from the other side of the pond!
