Started our seeds for the upcoming season!

Sasha and Big League tomatoes for our early season crop.

Katrina, Sweet Success, and Little Leaf for parthenocarpic cucumbers.

Michal parthenocarpic eggplant.

Clemson Spineless okra. Soaked the okra seeds 1.5 days, many seeds were already popping in the water, plants growing in less than 2 days in the soil! You don’t need to use bleach or anything else…just soak a couple days in water!

Moving plants closer to the grow lights this year, hoping to prevent such leggy plants that we fight every year.

Added another shelf unit with grow lights for this season. The greens did better than expected end of last year, so starting this year with more!

Hard freeze coming Monday night, so today was a big day at the farm.

Greenhouse 1- left lettuce, a row of kale, and a row of collards. Tomatoes picked and pulled.
Greenhouse 2- picked eggplant and will pick and pull all remaining eggplant tomorrow.
Greenhouse 3- tomatoes and cucumbers picked and pulled
Greenhouse 4- squash/zucchini, and tomatoes picked and pulled.

For the rest of the month, we will bring in manure from a beef farmer we met at the Seneca farmers market this year.

Probably wont pull kale or collards until Jan.

Allowing the soil to rest/replenish itself through winter.

This week at the markets we will have some greens available!!
Beautiful red and green lettuce, Siberian kale, and collards.

Still have bunches of tomatoes and beautiful eggplant.

Okra in small amounts and some zucchini as well.

Will be at Six Mile Tuesday and Clemson Wednesday!
