Our name you ask?? Well our last name is Apple, Hubby works for the railroad and we cross urban life with farm, and we are all a little scrambled! ;)
It all started when our 2 girls batted their little eyes at daddy begging for some chicks at Easter! Having grown up in Wi and farm life being a piece of me, that was it.... We have now been raising chickens for about 10yr and raise both egg layers
and meat birds. For those that say, "I live in town I can't do that", I'll show you different! We sell eggs both eating and hatching and both I and my eldest daughter have a certified candling license in the state of GA. Eggs are available for $3/doz. and are antibiotic, hormone free and from free ranged birds only cooped when gone or in the evening or in presence of a predator! (Hawks love our yard!)
We also have a good sized garden and try to grow as much as possible with the area we have and preferably heirloom, non-GMO varieties. We prefer to keep things the way God designed them! We also love supporting other local farmers and are a part of the Savannah River Grange. We want to preserve this way of life and also educate others about it. Having 2 children with Autism and our own health issues we have really begun to examine the effect our eating habbits and just what is in those foods we eat and the products we use daily. Once you begin investigating, it's pretty shocking what you'll find. We love to create our own products and occasionally will offer them for sale as they are available. Also love to share recipes and natural alternatives that work when we find them. I also run Bug-A-Boo Boutique and do custom sewing orders and minor alterations and repair jobs.
