On behalf of Keepin It Krabby and Loderique Gordon, I want to address the recent uproar on social media concerning the situation that arose on New Year’s Eve, when refunds could not be processed immediately. It’s important to clarify that the funds were allocated to products and essential business expenses, which meant that there were no available resources to issue refunds at that time.

Unfortunately, I have faced threats due to these circumstances, prompting me to withdraw from social media entirely. There is a significant difference between having available funds but withholding refunds and simply lacking the funds to provide them when needed. Any statement I could have made on social media would likely have been disregarded.

Throughout the year, I have consistently served customers without incident, including on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. It is curious that when an error occurred on the final day of the year, false accusations began to spread rapidly. Where were these concerns throughout the rest of the year? I am not misappropriating funds for personal gain; I have worked diligently to keep this business afloat because of my genuine passion for it. However, the joy I once found in this venture is beginning to diminish.

Two years ago, a similar situation occurred with my food truck, where we took orders and our generator failed. While refunds were issued when possible, social media backlash ensued, overshadowing the quality of our seafood and exemplary customer service, leading to unfounded claims that I am a scammer. I would never willingly deceive anyone; I understand the effort that goes into earning money, as I come from humble beginnings.

I did everything possible to mitigate the situation on New Year’s Eve, but I accept full responsibility for what transpired. I am not seeking sympathy; the business is closing for good, and I am committed to ensuring that everyone affected in the last days of the year receives a full refund. Although I have contributed positively through this business, sometimes negative circumstances overshadow the good.

I have served thousands of customers over the years, and it’s crucial to recognize that small businesses face significant struggles in continuing to serve those who appreciate their products. I have invested immense effort into this venture, and it pains me to be perceived as someone who misappropriates funds due to a minor situation that could have been avoided. With monthly expenses such as $8,000 in rent, taxes, food costs, and employee wages, the financial burden can be overwhelming. I have fought to keep the business afloat.

At times, to survive, I had to utilize payment systems beyond my control, which was the only way I could serve meals to customers. I understand that I am currently a topic of discussion for all the wrong reasons, and while I initially hesitated to clarify the situation, I feel compelled to address the narratives being circulated.

The actions of another local business in posting about this situation reveal their true character, and I won’t dwell on their motives. I hope their new crab egg rolls bring them some success.

I want to reiterate that I personally will ensure that everyone receives their funds back. While some may choose to dismiss my explanation, I felt it was necessary to share my side, especially given the severity of the accusations against me.

I would be remiss if I did not express my gratitude to those who have supported me since I was 19. This career path is incredibly challenging, and I am proud of what I have accomplished and overcome. I acknowledge my mistakes, as all humans do while growing and learning.

This message is not meant to evoke pity; rather, I owe this explanation to those who have supported the business over the years. I am committed to rectifying this situation and moving forward with my life. Thank you.

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who has collaborated with me and contributed to resolving various challenges we’ve faced. This past year, especially leading up to New Year’s Eve, has been truly remarkable. However, it’s become apparent that when individuals start sharing their experiences on social media, the narrative often transforms into something far more exaggerated than the actual circumstances.

I have already issued refunds to several clients and am actively working to address a few remaining cases. It’s disheartening to observe that the positive milestones we achieve rarely receive the recognition they deserve, while our mistakes tend to be magnified. Over the past six years, I have navigated a rollercoaster of experiences, with numerous ups and downs along the way. The support I’ve received from many is clear, and I want to emphasize that I am not someone who exploits others for financial gain.

Our business is currently facing some operational challenges, and I assure you that we are dedicated to rectifying these issues and ensuring that those who have not received their products or services are promptly refunded. Even though I have committed $8,000 monthly for rent, I have no intention of taking advantage of anyone. Throughout my journey, I have successfully served thousands of clients without incident.

While there was a particular event in 2024 that required my immediate attention and effort to resolve, it is regrettable that some individuals continue to use this isolated incident against me. I have numerous successes to share, yet it seems that only the negative aspects tend to gain prominence in discussions. It’s essential to focus on the overall journey rather than just the missteps along the way.

To clarify, every decision I make is not influenced by “trolls” or “Karens,” nor by hearsay. They could never dim my shine, even if they attempted to; I’ve faced tougher challenges before. My choice to close stems from a desire to focus on other endeavors that are important to me. This business has taken a toll over the years, and I wish to enter this new year in a different mindset. I appreciate those who understand this. Much love to you all 🧡.

Next week may just be Keepin' It's Krabby's last week, which I'm sure some people will love to hear, and that's okay! We had a great time throughout the years. I'm 25 years young, and I want to move on to something different. This business has overwhelmed me and stressed me out beyond measure. I truly want peace and a fresh start going into the new year.

I genuinely feel overwhelmed and can no longer endure this situation. I have dedicated years to building my business, yet today, I found myself in a distressing predicament when the police were called due to my inability to fulfill an order. Despite offering to complete the order the following day, along with a $100 gift card as compensation, I am now being unfairly portrayed as a criminal by two customers.

This is particularly disheartening because those who know me understand that this behavior is not reflective of my character. The circumstances preventing us from fulfilling the order were beyond our control, and we promptly offered a refund. However, before I could even address the situation, I was labeled as a “criminal,” “thief,” and accused of absconding with funds.

As a small business owner, I strive to go above and beyond for my customers. Within an hour, I was subjected to public posts and harassment, including threats, which is simply unbelievable. While some individuals have been understanding, the harsh judgments from others make me question my place in this industry. It’s incredibly frustrating to be misrepresented, especially when my commitment to quality and service is well-known.

This entire experience has been chaotic, and I’m feeling quite stressed. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
