🦌 This is exactly why we are promoting Natural Antler Certification (NAC).

When selective breeding produces antlers so extreme that a buck has to be sedated and have them sawed off because they have become too much for him to comfortably carry, we believe it’s time to ask an important question:

Are we breeding better whitetails—or simply bigger antlers?

We love impressive antlers, but the health, mobility and quality of life of the deer should always come first.

That is why we are promoting NAC — Natural Antler Certification and encouraging a return to healthy, balanced, naturally developed whitetails.

This isn’t about attacking deer farmers. It’s about encouraging responsible breeding and starting a conversation about where the industry goes from here.

The deer should always come before the antlers. 🦌🌿

Conner — Finishing Out His 2026 Antler Growth 🦌

Conner is just about finished growing for the 2026 season, and we couldn’t be happier with how he turned out.

Big frame, long tines, great character, and the kind of natural whitetail look we’re working to preserve here at Hoosier Deer Park.

No chasing extreme inches. No trying to create something nature never intended. Our goal is to breed healthy, impressive whitetails that still look like whitetails.

Conner will be an important part of our breeding program this fall, and we’re excited to see what he passes on to the next generation.

This is what natural antler genetics can look like.

🌳 Storm Damage at Hoosier Deer Park

Last night’s storm gave us a little more excitement than we wanted!

Two trees came down in two different areas of the park—one across the fencing in Pen 1 and another in Pen 2. Both caused enough damage that there was a very real possibility of deer getting out.

We did everything we could last night to temporarily secure the damaged areas, then spent the night hoping everyone would still be where they belonged this morning. 🤞🦌

Thankfully, all the deer stayed safely inside!

First thing this morning, the chainsaws came out. We removed the fallen trees, cleared the debris, and got the fencing repaired and secured again.

The before-and-after pictures really show just how much damage a couple of trees can do to deer fencing—and how quickly an ordinary evening can turn into an emergency when you’re responsible for keeping a herd safe.

A long morning, a lot of cutting and cleanup, but we’re very thankful everything worked out and no deer escaped and no one was hurt.

Just another day at Hoosier Deer Park! 🌳🦌

Natural Antler Certification™

🦌 Natural Genetics. Responsible Breeding. Natural Growth.

What do you think? Have we reached a point where antlers can become too extreme?
