Seen this on another post and I’m not sure it can be said any better so I’m posting it. It’s easy to forget pictures like this on just a “normal day” for us would be, and still could be drastically different if not for the service of past and present Americans.

The bass fishing world lost its greatest ambassador yesterday. I caught a million bass before I ever picked up a bow to hunt deer, this was way back when they actually showed hunting and fishing on ESPN and local channels every saturday morning. You know, like it was an acceptable way of living….. On the fishing side of things the Bassmasters was king, because of this guy for what he stood for and created. A legend in every way. 🎣🙏

Ray Scott passed away on Sunday May 9th at around 11:30 p.m. He died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes. Scott was 88 years old.

My wife and I became “mortgage owners” today as we like to say. It’s been a wild 8 months from breaking ground to moving in and the process in between. Still some small projects to do and finish unpacking but we are home. They say building a house will test a marriage, I honestly can’t say that it did in our case, but we are on the same page in life so that helps. I will tell you more than anything and my biggest warning is it’ll tell you who your true friends are quickly. From guys who let me borrow endless tools and guys who drove in multiple times from 6-7hrs away to help, to guys 5 minutes away who never pumped the brakes driving by, it’ll shed some light on those relationships for sure so beware. Waiting months on this and that, things finally showing up and being wrong, “O we don’t make that color/model due to (insert any excuse involving made up stuff)” it all happened of course, but we got through it. Big thanks to Tiffani Higginbotham and Nik Kern at Casey State Bank for everything in the loan process! Thank you contractors I used for work above my scope. And a special thank you to my friends, the list is short but is quality as it gets, they brought me tools when needed, hung carsiding 15hrs a day while using their vacation time and being 6-7hrs away from their family, to helping move in, a heartfelt feeling to know there’s still friends like that out there.
