Rain please. That's all. Crispy pastures for tax. First year I've ever had to hay all year. All our careful, rotationally stockpiled forage is dwindling fast. This pasture will get rotated in the next 24-48 hours once I move some fence. The ewe lambs are looking nice though, and I'm pleased about the growth rates in the face of pasture adversity.

Heads up Henry County Virginia. Data centers and battery storage sites are coming to the zoning change meeting July 28th, 2026. Instead of a moratorium, they have decided to propose allowing these monstrosities in A1 zoned areas. Absolutely not. No data centers. No battery storage sites. Our volunteer fire crews can not even begin to handle a fire at one of those. This is ridiculous.

The Henry County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the County's Zoning Ordinance at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, during its regular meeting in the Summerlin Room of the Henry County Administration Building.

The proposed amendments include new standards to regulate the future siting of data centers and battery energy storage systems, allowing multifamily housing by right in commercial districts to encourage residential development, and several additional updates intended to clarify the ordinance, support responsible growth, and address emerging land uses.

Working up sheep in preparation for lambing soon. Who's ready for some happy lamb pictures? I know I am. This year has been so tough losing my 2 main men at the farm. Miti and Alder have left such huge holes that Ill never be able to fill. I'm ready for spring and renewal.
