Today is our last day at the Marysville farmers market. We are raising awareness and donations for the CLL Society. September is Blood Cancer awareness month and Chronic Lympocytic Leukemia is the most common leukemia in adults. Come on out today, say a final farewell before winter hits, and help us support a great cause!

Final farmstand Friday of the season! Thank you to everyone who stopped by this summer for your locally grown veggies. Open today, Fri Sept 25, 1 to 7 pm. 12140 US Hwy 36, 4 miles east of Lowes. Today's harvest:
Lettuce, cucumbers, garlic, tomatoes, Sun Sugar cherry tomatoes, honey and jam.

Yesterday was another honey harvesting day. I found one of the queens while inspecting. Do you see her?

Cucumbers and tomatoes still giving us delicious salads, sauces and salsa even though days are getting shorter.

Reminder: the farmstand will be closed on Mondays for the remainder of the season. For September, we are open Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 7 pm, through Sept 25.

Now is the time to get your garlic for planting. We have nice, big bulbs that are perfect for growing your own. We have grown this variety of garlic for 20 years, saving our best bulbs to plant each year. So it is well acclimated to our soil and weather conditions.

Garlic (extra big bulbs for eating or planting)
Honey
Apple butter

And new this week - Sun Sugar tomato maple jam. I spent the rainy week developing this recipe and it is now perfected, jarred up and ready for you!

The farmstand will be closed for Monday, Aug 17. We have had 10 straight days of rain and the crops are suffering majorly. We only harvested a handful of tomatoes and some cucumbers today.

And honestly, sales have slumped the past 2 weeks. Back to school, the weather...I don't know. But we are spending today tryng to assess the flooding damage in between showers. Hopefully the ground will dry out later this week and we can plant more lettuce and fall snap peas. Thanks for your understanding.
