O . P . E . N . I . N . G tomorrow Thursday 8/22.
But first, here is a note from us 📝
Last week, we have made multiple attempts to open our doors without obtaining appropriate permits from the town. The Town of Mashpee, our local authorities, and the Mashpee Commons team were nothing but kind and helpful to us in this difficult process. We were the ones that did not do our job properly to find out all the details. We had ignored the information on permitting and we thought we could open our door. Our town and Mashpee Commons team have helped us diligently to get all the right permits quickly, and we are very grateful for their support in this. We apologize greatly for the whirlwind of confusion, but yesterday we received our permits and we can now open. After this rushing process, why aren’t we opening today?
Opening a second location should be an easier process, or so we thought. The same goes with having a new baby, but we know that one, and it’s not all sunshine and giggles. We thought we could just run through the process and call it a day. We had our timeline to get it open for just one month from the day we got our keys. Now that is insane! Listening to ourselves saying that makes our palms sweat already! I guess the jokes were on us. To anyone that has ever known us and our family, we are a workaholic bunch! This year we had been jumping through many new chapters in our book and let’s list them, shell we? First, we have a 15-month baby, then moved into a new home in May, while getting the other home fixed for rentals, new operating food truck and farmers markets, THEN, this new second location. Whew!!! Can we just stop and catch our breath for a minute? Even my fast-thinking mother and hard-money-earning grandma couldn’t even catch up to us now! I think we break the family record and are on our way to earning a workaholic championship!
But as we are running, we tripped and we fell flat on our faces. So until tomorrow when the door opens at 10am, we are going to hold our loving baby a little longer, sit down with our son and ask how his day is going, eat our lunch hot, and then maybe tomorrow’s opening is going to be a breeze like we had planned. It’s funny how we need to remind ourselves that our life is not a racetrack. The roses along the beach do smell wonderful and the Cape Cod scenery is beautiful, so why rush the season? 🏖️☀️
To sum up, we have been blessed with such an incredible team behind us, and we won’t be here today if it wasn’t for all of your support since day one. Thanks to my sister Chanda for keeping me sane, my brother Dee from Stir Crazy restaurant, for helping and supporting my dreams, and my friends and family for checking on me so often to make sure I don’t deprive sleep. Thank you so much for reading this, if you get to this last sentence, I will say this; every step has been enjoyable one and this is just the beginning of something greater. Stay tuned for upcoming plans from us Freshroll team!
Gracefully working, 💛
