Fat Hill Brewing, a 7-barrel craft brewery, opened downtown Mason City this December. Its brewing facility and taproom in the long-vacant historic building at 17 N. Federal Avenue features sixteen taps, space for 140 patrons, and a variety of live music and special events. Fat Hill Brewing got its name after we realized Cerro Gordo means Fat Hill in English. We wanted a name that would have a spec

ial meaning to locals but also be appealing to visitors and we think we found the perfect one. The taproom sells pints, flights, crowlers, growlers, and kegs on request. Please see Tap Room page on our website for info about holding your next private event with us.

Ginger’s Top Shelf Food Truck from Floyd describes their delicious creations as “elevated comfort food.” Expect grab-and-go goodies to fill you up like their famous cheesecake and chicken wraps (chicken bacon ranch, Caesar, caprese, etc). They’ll be parked outside the brewery near City Hall.

Jasper Tide
Jasper Tide is an energetic jazz combo consisting of ISU students past and present. They perform a range of styles, from standards to open free jazz influenced by bop, the cool jazz era, funk, Neo-Soul, and classic Motown/ RnB. Sax player Tryiston Tekippe-Bridges is a Mason City native and is excited to bring his band home to show it off. Come experience jazz like you’ve never heard it before! No admission fee.

Back on tap today is our beloved Oktoberfest! This uber-malty German lager is a deep copper in color and brewed with 100% German malt imported from Bamberg. A very traditional, old-world style, this beer is inspired by the Munich festival where this beer originally appeared in 1818. Prost! (5% abv - 19 ibu) We are open today (Monday) 4 pm - 8 pm.

Brace yourself for some serious BBQ! Joe and Tina are firing up the smokers and heading downtown this August to feed you at Fat Hill! They’ll be parked near the brewery across from City Hall. Enjoy your food truck goodies in the park, on our patio, or inside the taproom while listening to the music. The menu this time includes brisket sandwiches, pulled chicken sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, wicked pig sandwiches, loaded cheesy potatoes, BBQ Nachos( Brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork).

Jeremy Jewell Music
Jeremy Jewell is a southern Minnesota based musician, a staple of the Rochester music scene, who plays guitar and sings, as well as blowing harp and foot percussion. He performs both original and cover music in a vintage folk style a la Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Band etc. You’ll see him gigging around the midwest solo and with the groups Hair of the Dog and Calling Dinosaurs, another favorite at Fat Hill.
