Its OUR last Effingham Farmers Market of the season! ( the farmers market goes until Oct 31, so make sure to keep going and supporting the other vendors).

Today we are doing:
- larger bouq than usual!
- buy a medium or large- get a small for free!

Soooo my toxic trait happens to be really good news for YOU!

My toxic trait is that I always seem to over estimate how any flowers ill need for an event. Like yesterday. 😂 I loaded every square inch of the van up and headed to a special event. Then... I didnt sell nearly as many flowers as I thought. Oh, and while I was there, I didnt quite get my van door closed, then with having all the doors open to re-load for an hour, it drained my battery and I had to find someone with jumper cables. 🫠 Im so greatful for their help. J

Why is this good for you?! I have enough flowers for the Effingham Farmers Market tomorrow! 🥳 SO YES, I will be at the Effingham Farmers Market tomorrow morning!

This will be my ❗️ LAST market ❗️of the year.
I have way too many projects to get done and plants tonget planted before the weather gets really bad, and it seems like we have once again skipped fall. 🙃 if anyone has mother nature's direct line, please let her know that im over these extreme summer and winters, without much spring and fall time between. I never used to notice and could just ignore it when i did notice... I dont know its its my old age (40 😳) or what, but this year ive struggled with being motivated most days, because of the weather, and my lack of motivation is pi***ng me off. 😂😂

This solar field would be less than half a mile from our farm.

Potential ground water contamination could contaminate our wells.
Noise from the panels would be heard here.
Our peaceful, quite experience would be forever changed.

Help us stop this solar field!

(for those of you following along this summer, after the first hearing in June, Nextamp pulled their application. This is a totally new application for the same location. The fight starts all over now.)

Effingham Co Board Hearing is next week!!
Wednesday Oct 14, 5-10pm.

It's at the county building (above the jail), 3rd floor boardroom.

Nextamp has submitted a new, revised application for the Mason Plains Solar Field project on Joe & Gail Warner's farm along the Mason-Eberle Road 3 mile east of Mason.

Some things you might not know-
- There are over 64 residences within a 1 mi radius of this proposed solar field, with several of these being on a dead-end-road right next to the solar field. No way to escape thefumes if there is a major fire.
- This solar field back right up to a creek and woods that provide food and water for several neighbors.
- The lease is for 40 - yes FORTY- years. That's a long time. No commercial solar field has lasted that long YET in the United States, without major re-construction during the occupancy.
- Nextamp advertises that it was started by US Veterans, but they don't mention that it's been sold. Mitsubishi... a Japan based company, owns over 53% of Nextamp.

We're concerned.
You should be concerned.
Come to the hearing.
Ask questions.
Ask for modifications.
Let's make sure they don't ruin our children's futures!

With the kiddos having a 4 day weekend, Im not going to be at the Effingham Farmers Market this weekend. It would be a lovely weekend to bearing your kids out to the farm to pick their own cup of flowers! We will be open Thursday-Sunday from 8am-dusk! Its all set up for self-serve at the fence at the north end (farmhouse end) of the field! 15 for a cup full, 18 for a jar, 22 for a tub.

Sadly, im also unsure if we will be at the remaining markets this year...

Next Thrusday, Oct 15, i will be at the Hshs Women's Health Showcase! Ill drop a link to that event in the comments, its going to be an amazing night and you should come! We will have our bloom bar set up for make-a-bouquet and they will be in the cute carrying bag that we had a hobnob!

That event will probably use up all the flowers growing next week, and theyre slowing down too much to re-grow for the market Saturday.

Ill let you know if that changes, though!

Im so sorry ive been quiet lately, heres a tiny photo dump of homecoming and our busy weekend with the climb and the farmers market!

A couple weeks ago I realized that ive been all business minded since about February and my family has suffered because of it. I was trying ti get ahead with all things flowers, so that when I had surgery in early July I would be caught up, could take a month slow to spend with the kids, and have helpers lined up to handle the labor portion of flowers. Then July happened, it got super super hot, it was hard for us all to keep up due to the heat, so i worked way more than I meant to. Then we got busier than ever (so thankful!!) And.. well.. the whole summer flew by and I felt like I barley saw my kids. They were inside the house, being so good, taking care of their sister for me while I was outside tending to the flowers. And man, that realization was a gut punch.

So since then I've been trying to dial back a little, and social media is the easiest thing (but probably worst) for me to dial back on. I dont really know why, but a post usually takes me 30+ minutes to write. More time to take photos and edit. Thats why ive been trying to make quick, unedited videos instead, but I know they don't show up on your feed as well.

So its been a much needed, tiny step back from a small part of my flower hustle that has allowed us to make some little memories before the year is over. We hadn't even had a bonfire all summer- which is wild becsuee we always have tree limbs to burn. 😆 I know yall love to see how big my kiddos, especially Stella, is getting.. so here ya go.

Every year I try to find more ways to get life balanced, and it seems like I just slide from one end of the pendulum to the other. I.havent find the right combo to land in the middle yet. Anyone else feel like this or can give tips for better balance? Being a mom.. even a stay at home/work from home mom.. not easy. So worth it. But not easy. 😆

Its set up for self-serve, just park IN THE GRASS beside the driveway, then head to the fence at the north end of the field! Containers, water, and snips are all there ready for ya. :) there's a cash drop box or venmo scan code.

Lots of flowers are still blooming beautifully right now!
