You know what... Old bees don't return to the hive at night. They spend the night on flowers and, if they are lucky enough to see another sunrise, they resume their activity by bringing pollen or nectar to the colony. They act like this knowing their end is near. No bee expects to die in the hive so as not to weigh on others.
