This week I lost Wilma (white) and Esther (dark red). They had both been droopy on and off but were still going out each day with the others and exploring the yard. Even after years of chicken parenting, I still don't feel like I know what I'm doing. It's discouraging. They were good girls and I wish I'd had more time with them. 💚💙

This cat. He wakes me up every single night, at least once. He brings home bunnies, birds, chipmunks, mice and many other things I have to try and rehabilitate. He brings home ticks...lots and lots of ticks. 🤢 He goes in and out at least 8 times per day. Yesterday, he apparently fell in a swamp and came home muddy and an absolute wreck. My life used to be peaceful.

But, just look at that face. He went from not trusting a single human to needing daily kisses, hugs and pets. He's the most affectionate cat I've ever had and he was supposed to be feral. Ha! He's a mess, but I adore him.

It was a big night on the little farm. The sheep got haircuts!
