Well all the ewes and lambs got sheared today! Thank God for a sheep shearer šŸ™šŸ» we also sold our first lamb of the seasonā€¦ God is so good and we are so thankful for this lifeā€¦. And of course once you get all dirty and woolyā€¦. You gotta have a little fun! Come see us if you want some good sheep at an affordable price!

Most of the time we get lucky because we lamb so much later and miss the winter window but still the combination of spring storms, random cold fronts, and crap moms can still hit just right. If anyone needs the reminder the best thing for a chilled wet lamb is a blow dryerā€¦ normally we have a box we can stick the lamb and the blow dryer in and it works in minutes! Itā€™s the fastest way to get one dry and warm. Here Ive got her on a heating blanket, wrapped in a towel and letting the blow dryer do its thing on the lowest setting right before cool so it doesnā€™t get too hot. I check her temp by sticking my thumb in her mouth and once her mouth gets warm we will offer a warm bottle.
If you have livestock it will always be somethingā€¦. Funny thing about this little lambs mom is she was chalked to go to the sale barn last fall becauseā€¦ have I mentioned sheā€™s a crap momā€¦ā€¦ but she broke her leg the day before they were supposed to go so i said alright God show me what Iā€™m missing and we casted it and ended up turning her out with the rams instead. Now sheā€™s got a little ram lamb and this little ewe lambā€¦ā€¦ I canā€™t wait to see what God has in storeā€¦. Probably another bottle baby but he sure does work in mysterious ways!!
This baby girl is also a half sibling to Keaganā€™s 2 tooth ewe she showed and won some classes with this yearā€¦.. God always has a plan.

A sweet set of triplets for this sweet show eweā€¦ this ewe Missy, has had a wonderful
Show career and is officially retired from the show ring! She has had some fun wins along the way everyone loves how solid she isā€¦. How she handles herself heavy bred and now the fact the was carrying tripletsā€¦ Iā€™ll say Iā€™m even more impressed! Her biggest flaw is sheā€™s very moderate, more of a traditional Southdownā€¦. We are hoping we fixed that this year with a pairing to Zeke a ram that is being shown by Julie Lipka who has hung some banners of his own this year! Heā€™s long, tall, and massive
for a Southdown that hasnt reached a year old yet! we are excited to see what this pairing is going to do for the future of 4K!!

Iā€™ll be honest stock shows have been keeping us so busy and I know I need to update placings and winnings and backdrop picturesā€¦.. and then I turn around and we have 30 lambs on the ground crosses and Southdowns and itā€™s been a whirlwind but man and exciting time! Iā€™m not sure what Godā€™s plans are this year but letting him lead and so excited about what is to come!! Hereā€™s some cute baby pictures to tide everyone over šŸ˜
And I mean that grooved up rack isnā€™t hurting my feelings šŸ˜‚
