A chance to make things right.

A customer at Handy Pantry Mastic noticed a young person taking a beverage without paying and alerted our staff. After reviewing the footage, we confirmed what happened. Thank you to that customer for looking out for our store.

We believe in accountability and giving young people the opportunity to learn from a poor decision.

To the individual involved: please return with a parent or guardian, speak with our staff, and pay for the beverage. We’d love to see you take that step and turn this into a lesson learned.

A positive update for our Handy Pantry Mastic community:

Yesterday evening, the individual from our recent video returned with his mother. They paid for the drink and apologized, and he told us he had learned a lesson from the experience.

We appreciate him coming back and taking responsibility, and we appreciate his mother for helping him make things right.

Taking something without paying matters, regardless of the price. So does giving someone the opportunity to own a mistake, learn from it, and move forward. We’re glad he took that opportunity.

The matter is resolved, and we’re removing the original video. Please respect the family’s privacy by keeping names and identifying details out of the comments. If you shared or reposted the footage, please remove it as well.

We appreciate the apology and wish him and his family well.
