After some careful consideration (eating apples), we've determined that the Blondee apples are now ready for u-pick starting tomorrow, Saturday, August 29th!!!

It's amazing how far they've progressed over the past few days, developing their signature sweet, mellow flavor. SCIENCE FACT: The cooler nights we have had recently have slowed the tree's respiration, allowing the fruit to retain sugars and become sweeter and more flavorful!

There is an $8.00 minimum per family for u-pick; after that is met, the prices are:
4.5 - 20 pounds - $1.75/pound
20-40 pounds - $1.50/pound
Over 40 pounds - $1.25/pound

We do have a pretty good crop of Blondees, so we should have them available for u-pick for a little while. Additional apple varieties will be ripening in the next 5-7 days, but for now, the rest of the farm is not open. The other apples need more time. Please stay within the marked u-pick area and only pick the Blondee apples that are labeled with signage.

Bonus - these apples are some of our closest apples to walk to, so if there are any mobility concerns in your group, this apple may be a good fit for you!

Remember the last u-pick group departs 1 hour before we close, if you arrive after that time we will not be able to send you out to the orchard. Thank you for respecting our hours.

Market hours: Monday - Saturday 9-6 and Sundays 10-5.

We provide the bags for you to pick-in, just come into the market when you arrive to get all of the details.

For more important apple updates, please check out the blog link below. Due to spring frosts, this year is not a "normal" year for us here on the farm. The graphics on our website will help you know what to expect and help you plan your apple adventures this fall.

Thank you for supporting our family farm.

Apple u-pick is still a little ways away, so come and get some of these to tide you over until you can pick your own apples - Blondee will be our first u-pick variety (similar to a Yellow Delicious).

Also in the market now: Zestar apples, Evercrisp apples (50% off), cantaloupe, watermelon, PEACHES, blueberries (arriving late morning), sweet corn, tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, AND MORE!

Love this time of year when there are SO MANY fresh and delicious things to eat!

And don't forget the blueberry donuts to cap off your shopping trip - there are only 3 more chances to get them this summer before we switch over to our traditional fall apple donuts on Thursday, September 3rd.

See you soon :)

Want to learn a new word?

Let's step into the classroom and learn about VERAISON.

Let's say it together now: ver-AY-zun or ver-AY-zhun.

The noun is of French origin and simply means "change of color of the grape berries." Veraison represents the transition from berry growth to berry ripening. Many changes in berry development occur at veraison - it is when grapes ripen, gain sugar, and change color.

It's a pretty crucial step of the grape growing process!

These are some pictures of our Concord grapes in veraison that started last week. It is an indicator that they are approximately 30 days from harvest, and when the sweet, grapey aroma starts.

You're more than welcome to share these fun farm facts and your next gathering with family or friends - you'll be brilliant!

Who is looking forward to grape season??

!!🍑PEACH PROMO🍑!!

Monday (8/17) and Tuesday (8/18) while supplies last on the last of the Red Haven peaches - buy two half bushels - SAVE $10/each - a total of $80 instead of $100 (must buy two to receive discount)!!

It's a great savings and a good chance to throw some in the freezer for winter use. Come on out to the farm and stock up - we'll be ready for you.

We will be moving on to the next variety of peach later in the week; unsure what variety that will be, but any fresh peach grown in Michigan is a win in our book!

Other farm notes:
🫐Blueberries are expected to sell out late Monday or sometime on Tuesday. Unsure if we will be getting more later in the week or not.

🍎🍉🍅🥒🌽🧄🧅🥔Lots of Zestar apples, cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, green beans, sweet corn, and all of the rest of your summer favorites are ready for you to come and pick them up.

We love helping feed your family delicious, locally grown food. ❤

We met the cutest couple this week....👩‍❤️‍👨

We had a lovely couple in the market this week who were celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary!!!!!🎊❤

They shared with us that instead of a fancy dinner out, they chose to come and get Schultz's sweet corn and tomatoes to enjoy at home together.

They were super cute, and we felt the love.

Enjoying simple and delicious things together with the ones that you love, help fill our hearts.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your love story. Schultz's produce for the win ❤🌽🍅

FINALLY - the time has arrived!!!

Half Bushels of Red Haven peaches are now available in the market. Freshly picked from South Haven, MI. Fresh, sweet and juciy - everything that a Michigan peach could and should be.

$50/half bushel. Available only already picked in the market - there is no peach u-pick this year!

Available while supplies last (open until 5 today, 9-6 on Monday). Not sure what variety of peach we will have later in the week. Come and get them while you can.

Red Haven peaches come away from the pit when they are fully ripe and are reach for fresh eating, freezing, baking, and jam. They are running a little smaller this year, but that doesn't affect the FLAVOR!
