Spring is here! Dandelions what a wonderful thing for bees and people too. Pollinators will be loving these as they start foraging. I picked some flowers leaves and root for us - yes all editable but made sure to leave plenty for the bees.

Started spring mowing yet? Don’t!🐝

Spring is here in some parts of the country and honey bees are foraging un-mowed yards galore! Abundant forage is hard to find and pollinators need those early spring blooms.🌼

Why not enjoy those wildflowers instead of treating them like weeds? Let the grass grow. You’ll be mowing all summer and into the fall, may as well take it easy until then!

Honey and memory—there may be a connection between the two that helps fight Alzheimer’s.🍯

A recent study compared 19 different kinds of honey to determine their potential efficacy in the prevention of cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

The study notes that “honey may play a key role in memory enhancement and may also be used as an agent preventing dementia.”

Honey contains polyphenols, organic chemical compounds, with antioxidant properties. The polyphenols in honey are rich in antioxidants, antimicrobials, are anti-inflammatory, and show positive effects related to memory!

More research needs to be done, but if you were looking for a reason to start buying and eating US honey…this is your sign!
