Some weeks just do not go as planned. The youngest boy had one of his wether goats pass away this week due to a post-pneumonia infection in his lungs, despite vet visit and more antibiotics. We still competed in the Jackson County Spring Show, with goats and a lamb, but results weren't there. Hopefully some extra motivation as we end Spring jackpot shows and begin fair preparation.

Projects do not start or end just during the County Fair, or even just during the summer. We have already been dedicated to a 'leg routine' with our lambs this year at least two times each week. This takes hours of time from everyone involved to wash, condition, treat, dry, and wrap. Kudos to all of those with projects or in general that dedicate such time to make their projects the best they can be.

The ewe lamb got a rough cut today to get rid of a few pounds of fluff. This is especially important as we head into warmer weather, to keep her cool and keep her eating well. Only our second time shearing a lamb, so don't judge the far from perfection on the cut.
