A lot of people ask where we are located and how our farm works so here is some information about our family and our farm.
Our farm was started in 1968 by my husbands parents, Archie and Pat Sperry in Maysville, Arkansas. My husband and I now run the farm and we have five children with the oldest Connie being married and living in Bentonville with her family. Our son Luke is a huge part of the farm and helps out daily with the cattle and in the hayfield. Then there is Shylee who left for college in Tennessee last year to play basketball and pursue a degree in Accounting, but when she is home she is our lifesaver and can run any of the equipment on the farm. Luke and Shylee have always been instrumental in helping us on the farm from an early age. They can work cattle, feed hay and run all the equipment. Ambrus is 9 and loves farm life. She has goats and mini donkeys and calls every single one by name. Adalee is 4 and our lover of all things on the farm including snakes so we have to check pockets before she enters the house at night.
Together we farm about 1000 acres and raise around 700 head of cattle. Five years ago we were asked about purchasing quality beef that would taste good and was farm raised, so after much thought we started Sperry Beef. Since that time it has grown so much that we now butcher 4 calves each month to keep up with the demand. We pride ourselves in producing quality beef that has been fed out for at least 100 days to insure the meat is tender. We sell by the 1/4, 1/2 or whole and charge by the live weight the day of butcher.
We are also currently working on producing USDA inspected beef that can be sold in smaller quantities from our freezer and will also be at Lagniappe Bistro & Market in Gravette, Arkansas.
