Opened in November, 2018, Big Inlet Brewing is the result of years of brainstorming by close friends and relatives including Brent Henderson, Randy Henderson, Mike Starks and John Weise. Our goal is to provide the highest quality beer available in a farm-oriented, family-friendly environment. Our home on Elm Flats Road in Mayville, NY was once an actual working farm, complete with horse and cow st
alls. It has since been fully converted into a small batch brewery with farm-related décor. Including a 1,600 sf brewing floor as well as 2,300 sf of tasting/gathering room, we have plenty of space for your enjoyment. Add to that our outside bier garten and eventual pond, surrounded by a peaceful, natural setting and you may never want to leave. In early 2014, Randy and Brent discussed the need for a location near the town of Mayville and near a major interstate. Even more importantly, knowing that the goal was to create a New York State farm brewery, there was a desire to incorporate a barn or other farming elements into the location. It just so happened that this property was available and we were able to obtain it. The brewery name went through a number of revisions over the course of a couple of years. Some placeholders included Elm Flats Brewing (named after the street), Little Barn Brewing (named after the barn), and other names either associated with the area or a nearby cemetery. Ultimately, the name "Big Inlet Brewing" was decided upon in recognition of the waterway that runs along our western border. This stream empties into beautiful Chautauqua Lake which is located just about a mile from our location. Using almost all NYS and locally-grown/produced ingredients, Big Inlet Brewing produces small batch, handcrafted beers designed and brewed by our brewers Mike Starks and John Weise. Mike and John each have decades of home-brewing experience and they've won a number of competitions for their brewing skills. Our farm-oriented, fun-loving brand is evident throughout – this includes through our beer, through our brewery and through the relationships we've created with contractors, vendors and customers. We recognize the need to pay consistent attention to the details of every step of our brewing process, and in every aspect of design and service. We recognize that our location is a part of our image as is the beer we produce, the environment we create, and the customer service we provide. All are essential factors in the success of our brewery. The brewery is in a safe and comfortable area, is conveniently located, is welcoming, is clean, and delivers entertainment value well beyond the high quality beer product. Occasional live music is offered as well as working relationships with food vendors and restaurants in the area (until we are able to provide our own food options). Brent, Randy, Mike and John are all "hands on", blue collar souls who share a common passion – to provide customers with the product (beer) and customer service that they deserve in a way that displays our dedication to Chautauqua County and Western New York. Ultimately, beer is about a good time. We look forward to making new friends, sharing our beer, and providing that service and environment where you have just that – a good time. Thank you for visiting Big Inlet Brewing!
