Well….she’s just fat! NO BABIES!!! I’m so disappointed! Everything pointed to her being pregnant. 🥺🥺 She led me on for 116 days….maybe next time. I guess Jesus said it just wasn’t time yet😭😭

Topanga is now in her new digs for the winter and ready for farrowing. We are in the final countdown! I can’t wait to see those precious piglets!

The last batch of American Bresse chicks have arrived! Starting in spring, the new meat program begins! I’ll officially have a sustainable meat source. No more buying “meat birds”!

The hunt for a sustainable meat chicken is finally over! After a year of experimenting, the American Bresse chicken is the winner. In just 15 weeks, the roosters were on average 3 pounds (I will be letting the grow a little larger next go around) with actual breast meat, sizable legs and thighs, and nice size wings. The other cross chickens I raised just didn’t do the job!

The meat was rich and tender. Plus I did not have to adduce salt to the meat…almost none!

So, in the future any chicken that is available will be from the American Bresse chicken. There will be chicks, hatching eggs, and limited amount of meat available next season.

I’m so excited about this change!

I’m in love with these angora rabbits! She-Ra and her friends had to have a new do to keep the hair out of their eyes. It won’t be long before her fur can be harvest for fiber!
