We brought back one of our original 2 does this past week. When Candy Battaglia let me know that she was dispersing her herd, I knew immediately that Baby had to come back home here and went to pick her up the next day. She was the first doe that Laramie ever walked in the ring with at 2 years old and now they have plans for state fair and Dixie as Baby showing in the commercial dairy goat classes. She is half Nigerian dwarf, 3% Saanen, and 47% Lamancha. She has quickly resumed her place as the herd queen around here.

Finally making a post for our show in Laurel. We had a great weekend at our Southern Browsers show in Laurel. Moon Station Golden Dancer had the highlight of our show winning her class of 2 year old Nigerian seniors and going reserve grand behind a 10 year old doe under judge Kimberly Fullen. JKL Farm Opalite won her class of 0-3 month Nigerian juniors 3/4 times and JKL Farm Raspberry Beret won her class under both Cade and Travis Cockburn. JKL Farm Lena was 2nd place 2 year old milker under Judge Travis Cockburn. JKL Farm Raspberry Espresso was the junior grand champion Nigerian dwarf buck under judges Kimberly Fullen and Dan Laney. Laramie and Moon Station AG Miracle literally battled it out to get to third place in showmanship on Sunday. Laramie broke her foot the end of April and was released to show just a few days before the show. Then the morning of the show, her doe somehow pinched a nerve in her neck on the stand with her collar while being groomed. Thankfully I’m an animal massage therapist and got it worked out so they could show even if both were still slightly shaken by the ordeal. Great reminder that sometimes just being in the ring at all is a huge blessing.
