Bright Arrows Farm now consists of several 6th consecutive generation farmers. As many as four generations ago the family had many "truck farmers" who made their living growing small fruits or vegetables and using their pick-up trucks to haul their produce to a market or train station to sell. This was their lively-hood. In the early 1940's, Members of this family were among the very first to succ
essfully bring Holstein cattle to Mississippi for their easy upkeep and increased milk production... This was accomplished against all odds. Dedication, Innovation, and Determination are values that have rung clear and run firm through the generations of our family for over 200 years. With today's advances in science and accessible information, farming doesn't have to look like it did 200 years ago. Our passion, however, is to farm with the same values that have been passed from generation to generation in our family. We strive every day to make our future - our family's and your's - a future worth having. We long to see health returned; health for our land, our animals, and especially our bodies and the bodies of our future generations! In 2001 our immediate family moved to a 5 acre lot and were able to realize a life long dream of having a huge garden. That year we were able to eat, can, preserve, and enjoy the tangible and conceptual fruits of our labor. In 2005, 16 chickens joined our homestead and we enjoyed the nutritional benefits of homegrown, free range eggs. As the current generation grew, their interest in farming grew and naturally branched out to include 4-H. They began showing their grandfather's Angus cattle in 2008. In 2009 we decided that it was finally time to realize another dream: owning dairy goats. We started with two goats. We had the benefit of the wonderful milk! Lactose intolerance was no longer an issue. Goat milk is easier to digest, and having no antibiotic or growth hormone residues layered blessings upon blessings! Now the entire family enjoys the fresh milk, the cheeses, the kefir, the ice cream, and now soap and other body products as well! Our Bright Arrows Farm body product line began as an interest and truly a necessity for our own family. Many soap allergies, eczema, and horribly cracked skin problems instantly disappeared when we started using our own soap, since our soaps have no preservatives or other harsh chemicals plus the added and tremendous benefits of the raw goat's milk. Our farm now brings to the market some of the finest fresh soaps, lotions, lip balms, bath teas, and other body products! In 2013 the oldest daughter of our family, Hannah, was accepted into the intern program of Polyface Farm (featured in Food Inc., Fresh, American Meat). That internship encouraged us to begin raising our own meat birds. We started with 16 broilers in 2014. In 2015 we raised and sold 200 of the finest meat birds available. We continue to offer these amazing, clean, all natural, no hormone or antibiotic, 100% pastured, land healing, grass fed heritage meat birds to more people! In 2015 we raised our first batch of clean pork, as well as sold several of our grass based beef animals! In early 2015 we put our first hoop house into production and were among the first in our area to offer lettuce, cucumbers, and other fresh vegetables! Bright Arrows Farm now focuses on providing natural body care products, pastured meats, and organically raised produce! Bringing you the finest cleanest farm fresh products on the market is our joy and pleasure. 5
