We had a great 1st week at The All American Quarter Horse Congress . We started off with Alaina showing Casino in the Ranch Riding and Ranch Youth followed by our 1st western IEA show of the season.
Alaina showed in the NYATT Ranch Riding class representing Tri State Quarter Horse Association. And then showed in the Ranch trail. She had some really good runs. It's exciting to see this team grown and improve each show. They got their hights score on their extended trot yet. They did a great job for their first Congress and made us proud. Casino stayed to play at the IEA show, don't worry this boy knows how to sleep, he difentaly got his naps in.

We had 11 riders showing at the IEA Congress show. We won 6 out of 8 horsemanship classes we showed in. The riders were on fire with 6-1st place ribbons, and 2-2nd places. We picked up a couple of 3rds, in Ranch riding and horsemanship as well. These riders have been working so hard and it was so rewarding for it to pay off. What a great start to their season. We finished with High school team placing 5th and middle school placing 4th out of 15 teams, not to bad with only 3 classes filled.
What a great experience for these young riders to get to show at the Congress and do so well, and they got to have alittle fun as well!

Yesterday we said good bye to our oldest horse on the farm, Sitting on a Cruise, aka Cruiser. I always said he was an acquired taste, he was not love are first meeting, but the riders that spent time with him and got to know him they formed a lifetime bond. He was often referred to as a bully, as he would try to to intimidate the lesson kids, but the riders who stuck it thru and forced their love on him he grew to be a softly with them, and loved to recieve their treats. I feel like Cruiser has been at Caustelot for close to 20 years, he has taught so many riders over those years. Cruiser has been retired for a few years just hanging out with his friends and getting loved on, and now hes in greener pastures with his buddies that have paste before him. Please share any pictures and stories you have.

IMPORTANT
PLEASE READ

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with your campers so far and appreciate all the hard work they have put into riding and camp this week.
Unfortunately, due to the current air quality warnings in our area, we must cancel our final day of camp on Friday July 17th. The health and safety of the campers (and all the horses and staff) is our top priority, with the advisement to avoid outdoor activities under these conditions.

We would like to offer alternatives to make up for the missed day of camp.

Option 1-
Camp make up day Friday July 31st

Option 2-
Make up can be scheduled for a group lesson.

You can pick either of these options. Campers crafts will be ready for them to pick up at one of these options.
If you're going with option two, please shoot kathy a text to schedule 724-554-5504

PLEASE CLICK FORM TO FILL OUT YOUR OPTION.
This will also let me know that you have received this notice.

What a great weekend our riders had at the WVU summer show. With all of the High Point and Reserve High Point placings, the best ever may just be the riders getting the Sportmanship award. They do know how to cheer all of the riders on. Looking fordward to the July show. Thank you Crystal Smith and the WVU students for putting on another great show.

Well thats a wrap! Another All American Youth Horse Show in the books. We had some 1st timers and some veterans. Lots of construction, horses were thankfully fine with. Schedules were great and we got to see all of our riders compete. This is one of the most competitive horse shows some of these riders will ever do, and they love it. We started off the show with some Ranch Trail, everyone did a great job. Alaina and Casino walked away with 5th with their wonderful trail run. Maddie placed 1st in Western SMS, her 1st time making it to the championships, and place 5th in the championships. Maddie Charles and Willzy went on and placed 4th in Hunt SMS and ground poles, and then placed 2nd in the HUS. So Maddie got into 2 championship classes and finished 6th in HUS. Emme and Comet also had a great youth. You would never guess Comet is 24. He was certainly feeling his youthfulness. They placed 1st in Western Riding with a beautiful pattern, and 4th in HMS which was Emmes 1st time placing in that class at youth. Emme and Comet placed 2nd and 4th in Western Please sending them to the Championship class. Bella and Arnold, Peyton and Patrick, and Reagan Johnson and Shooter also competed and had some good rides.
Everyone did such a great job this weekend, and a great kick off to the summer shows.
