Maloy Valley Farm

We had a great time last week at the North American Hill Sheep Show held in Manistique, Michigan. We had the pleasure of meeting and making new friends with both fellow shepherds and with the judges who traveled from the United Kingdom. It truly is a unique and most enjoyable show. Sheep were brought into the show from across the country and represented numerous breeds.

We were very pleased with the results from the show with our North Country Cheviots receiving numerous first place awards, including Best of Breed with our ewe enabling us to bring home the James Metcalfe Trophy for the second consecutive year!

Another highlight was winning the ram lamb class with a ram we purchased from our son Jake and his wife Emily who raise North Country Cheviots at Snowy Mountain Ranch.

Professional photographer Wayne Hutchinson, who traveled from the UK, was onsite and captured brilliant photos that we will treasure forever.

We are just now getting things unpacked and the sheep settled and are already excited thinking about next years show!

We just got back to the farm late last night returning from the NAILE in Louisville KY where we showed two of our Scottish bred North Country Cheviot lambs. Our show highlight came with our February ram lamb who took second place in his class. We appreciate all of the compliments we received on our sheep!
