calf number four of the season and mom is eating her placenta! this is totally NORMAL and most mammals do this. why? it’s full of nutrients, gives her energy, AND eliminates birth scents that may attract predators. mom is nourished, baby is safe, and only our species would bat an eye at this. i always love this part. do you think it’s weird or beautiful or maybe both?

kicked off our 2026 dinners with a SOLD OUT ramp dinner - and i took over the kitchen for a 4 (which turned into 8) course meal highlighting our wild ramp plus some local veg we were fortunate to source and all the wildom meats! plus some oysters. fired some bellies and other things in the oven for some extra special flavor. can’t believe we fit 45 guests and one giant communal table in HH but it was magical ❤️ big thank you to haeli and darryl for creating such a beautiful space and inviting us into your kitchen

Our farm dinners start May 21 with 1 each month through October. All the dates and tickets are online! Get your seats. So excited to see everyone at the table this summer.
