Here is a video of our new cultivator attachment. It is called a tillmor. It’s mounted on a 1940 vintage Allis Chamlers G model. We are weeding zinnias and Cosmos flowers with it. They will be ready for you to cut in July!

Good morning! Here is the strawberry picking conditions report for Stades Farm & Market on Monday June 15. We have good picking today even after a very busy weekend. It may take you a little longer to fill your baskets than it did over the last few days but the berries are out there. We have over 20 acres so with a little patience and walking you can find all you want. The kids will love the hunt! The weather is perfect and we have rides to the field. Also lots of other things to do at the farm. We hope to see you at the soon!

🍓 Strawberry Picking Update for Monday, June 15! 🍓

Yes — we are open for strawberry picking on Monday, June 15. The fields are filled with tons of beautiful, ripe, juicy berries!

Our strawberry season typically lasts through the 4th of July, and we plan to be open for picking every day while the season lasts, barring any weather‑related closures. As always, Mother Nature sets the pace, so we’ll keep sharing updates as the season moves along.

Picking hours are 8:30 am - 5 pm.

We can’t wait to see you in the patch for another sweet day of summer picking. 🍓❤️i

June 12 hits a little different around here — it’s the birthday of the man who keeps this whole place running.

Vern's Strawberry Update...

Vern says this is the best crop he has ever seen! After a shaky start with the frosts in early May, the strawberries really took off and produced incredible, large, beautiful berries. The picking this weekend, and probably next week, is going to be excellent. Don't worry about the excessive rain, it has already dried off quite a bit.

We have all kinds of produce for sale in the market and strawberry donuts, strawberry slushies, outdoor vending with grilled burgers, dogs, brats and roasted sweetcorn. Lots to do here at the farm and the weather looks perfect! Hope to see you all out here this weekend. I'll be around all over the place, stop and say hello!

🍓 Our Strawberry U-Pick is OPEN today from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM! 🍓

Don't let yesterday's rain keep you away! Thanks to the straw between the rows, our strawberry fields are not muddy, making for excellent picking conditions.

The weather is beautiful, the strawberries are plentiful, and it's a perfect day to spend some time in the field.
We also have fresh sugar snap peas available for picking, so be sure to grab some while you're here!

Strawberry Picking Starts Tomorrow Morning at 8:30 am!!!!!

Yes, indeed, the U-Pick season officially opens Friday morning at 8:30! We will have tons of beautiful ripe strawberries and lots of super sweet sugar snap peas. The storms will be over tonight and the weekend is going to be picture perfect for strawberry picking. The strawberry fields will not be muddy, because of the straw that we put down between the rows. Rides to the patch are available. We have both large hayride wagons, and for those who need a little softer ride, we have several golf cart shuttles. We will be picking the varieties Wendy and Galeta strawberries. They are the earliest variety. There are eight varieties total and we should have strawberries through the 4th of July, but the earlier you come the better, because we don't know what Mother Nature has in store. U-Pick prices are $20 / 4 quart bucket, $14 / 2 quart bucket, $7 / 1 quart bucket. If you buy five 4 quart buckets, you get the 6th FREE! This brings your price for a 4 quart bucket down to $16.67, or $4.16 per quart. A 4 quart bucket weighs approximately 6 lbs., 2 quart approximately 3 lbs. and 1 quart approximately 1.5 lbs. At the U-Pick barn, you must purchase at least $7 per person to enter the field. Any combination of buckets will work. Sugar snap peas are priced the same as strawberries. Those 2 and under do not need to meet the minimum purchase requirement.

Plenty of pre-picked strawberries are available in the Farm Market Store. The price is $6.99/quart. We also have lots of other produce, bakery, Townsend Cattle & Meats and gift items in our large farm market.

Of course, along with strawberry season comes our famous strawberry donuts and strawberry lemonade slushies! Be sure to try them if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed!

Lunch is available at our outdoor food stands. Fresh grilled sandwiches will be available, along with roasted sweetcorn, ice cream Countrytime Creamery & more!

Check Facebook daily to get the latest field conditions. Right now, conditions are excellent and the berries are super ripe! There is plenty for everyone all weekend, no question! Don't let this opportunity pass you by!
