Farm Fans! September is going to be a busy busy month for Farmer Dave and myself! This Thursday Sept 3 its the Saltsburg Farmers Market . Saturday September 12 its Saltsburg Oktoberfest. The following weekend is Avonmore Harvest Jubilee Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th. Thursday Sept 24 is another Farmer market, followed by the Blackleggs Creek Watershed Association Wild Game cook-off! I'll need a vacation after that month!

Well Farm Fans, here's a little rant for the day. As you all know Farmer Dave and I work hard to bring our little community fresh veggies, eggs and canned goods. We do our utmost best to keep the prices low so that everyone can come and get fresh food. We trust by working on the honor system. But today, and it's not the first time, someone has stolen from us. It's the same guy as last year. He lives on Cribbs Rd and drives a bronze F150. He's elderly, but certainly not hard up for money. I watched him take stuff last year, he lied to Dave about his eggs being sold to him broken, and he's constantly trying to pay us less than we ask for. Y'all know my heart. I would give anyone, anything at anytime. You can't afford tomatoes, I'll give them to you. You need eggs but have no money..they're yours. Just don't steal. It has broken my heart that he came onto our property just now and stole tomatoes and cucumbers. Really? We're talking about maybe $3 or $4! I only saw him as he was driving off.
I don't want to punish every good honest customer because of one rotten, selfish one. And I won't. We will still operate the same way as always. We won't raise our prices. And I will continue to help anyone in need. But today my heart is sad.
Sorry for the long rant. Thanks to all our loyal fans for being the BEST out there. Guess i just need a Facebook hug.

Since apparently I cannot go even one day without canning something....I present to you...Mild Salsa. No hot peppers at all. Just tomato yumminess. Coming to the farmstand tomorrow and the Saltsburg Farmers Market on Thursday!
