Meet the Owner – Asia Harrison
Meet Asia Harrison, the proud owner of A&E Eat’z. Born and raised on the West Side of Pittsburgh, Asia’s passion for cooking began at just 7 years old when she fried her very first batch of chicken wings. From that moment on, the kitchen became her happy place.
Growing up, Asia spent countless hours watching her late grandmother Darzetta, her mother Keely, and her late Aunt Tootie prepare home-cooked meals filled with love. She paid attention to every ingredient, every recipe, and every lesson shared in the kitchen. If food was being cooked, you could always find Asia right in the middle of it all. Cooking for her siblings and family quickly became more than a hobby — it became her passion.
At the age of 16, Asia chose to attend Pittsburgh Job Corps, where she earned her certification in Culinary Arts in 2005. Years later, in 2021, she took a leap of faith and began selling her food from a one-bedroom apartment, determined to share her cooking with the public.
In 2023, a family friend offered Asia the opportunity to view a small storefront location for a takeout restaurant. The moment she walked into the space, she knew it was meant for her. With no loans, no handouts, and nothing but determination, Asia worked tirelessly — driving for Uber and Lyft, taking catering jobs, and doing whatever it took to bring her dream to life.
Today, A&E Eat’z has become one of the most talked-about food spots in Pittsburgh. Despite the success, Asia remains humble, grateful, and deeply appreciative of every customer and every ounce of support she receives. Above all else, she is a proud mother of three who turned passion, hard work, and faith into reality.
What the Owner Wants You to Know
The name A&E Eat’z carries a meaning that is deeply personal to Asia’s heart.
The “A” stands for her brother Anthony, who was tragically lost to gun violence in the late 1990s.
The “E” honors another brother she lost to SIDS in the late 1980s.
Through A&E Eat’z, Asia believes their memories will live on forever.
