The current heatwave is disheartening but maybe we can throw a hint at Mama Nature by queuing up some stews and soups?

Lots of whole chickens to get your fall and winter comfort foods off to a start. Or maybe try chicken feet as a base for stock or broth?

We have both and will be at Colonial Heights Farmers Market this Saturday Sept. 5, 9-12.

💵 A Little Farmers Market Etiquette Reminder! 💵

We LOVE seeing you at the farmers market, and here’s one little thing that helps your vendors more than you might realize — bring cash, and bring small bills!
Most farmers market vendors aren’t sitting on a cash register full of change like a big retail store. We’re farmers, bakers, growers and makers who packed up our products, loaded our vehicles and set up shop for a few hours.
Handing a vendor a $100 bill for a $10 purchase can wipe out the change they brought for several customers. As a good rule of thumb, a vendor really shouldn’t be expected to give more than about $20 in change.
So before heading to the market, hit the ATM and, when possible, break those larger bills. Bring $5s, $10s and $20s along with you.
It’s a small courtesy that makes a BIG difference to the hardworking folks behind those market tables. ❤️🌽🥚🥩
Trust me... your farmers market vendors will thank you! 😊

To our Credit Card Users:

**Effective Today, August 18, a 3% fee will be added to all credit card purchases.

**The amount will be added automatically by the credit card company at time of purchase.

We know it's ridiculous. But we'd rather be transparent and not raise the cost of our products to cover the credit card fees.

We will continue to cover your sales tax like we always have.
