It’s been a minute since a calf arrived here and we felt like the trajectory of our farm could’ve completely changed. It felt that way when we found Miss Jan Marie curled up by the fence on April 9th. Miss Mary Theresa (full sister to 97”+ Miss Waneta June and on pace with Junie growing horn) had this gorgeous baby girl sired by SDR Lionheart.

This baby girl is named after our very, very special friend who allowed us to let our cows live on her beautiful pastures. Even though she has been gone for several years now, we still feel her watching over us and our cows. This one is for you, Jan! We love you and miss you! 🥹

Consider THIS powerhouse pedigree and the potential in one baby heifer- it’s all too exciting!!! We are going to be watching her with great anticipation! ❤️

We’d like to sincerely thank Lexi Schweigert and Lane Schweigert of Maple Trace Farm for the purchase of Bit O Honey! Last year they bought Honey’s daughter, Pixy Stix and have loved her ever since- they thought they’d go right on ahead and get momma! Lexi and Lane offically have their brand and they are well on their way to start breeding and raising some really nice longhorns here in central Illinois!

I’m telling you guys! Us mid-westerners know how to raise some cattle! Don’t overlook any of us!

We would like to thank Broken Fence Farm for trusting us and our breeding program and purchasing Bird of Paradise!!! They are kind of starting over from the original group of cattle they started with and she is perfect to get them going in the direction they want to go in! We never wanted to part with her again but her daughter, Zinnia 623, is turning out stunning and will make a great replacement. We have grown to a point we cannot keep all the cows we want to and it’s wonderful to know she will go on and be so valued by them.

Great things happen when us small breeders band together and support each other and help each other grow!! Looking forward to seeing what she can do for them! Looking forward to that calf she is carrying too! Best wishes to Birdie and your wonderful family! ❤️

LION HEAD. Just not gonna steer this guy. Not gonna!!! We’ve had a few people reach out with interest on this guy with no takers yet. We have made the firm decision we won’t keep a bull for ourselves because our genetic pool is just too close to give a bull we raised enough.

Yes. We live in ILLINOIS. I’m sorry, ok?! But that doesn’t mean we won’t work with someone on either meeting them or delivery. Thoughts?? Any takers??
