It is with a heavy heart that we write to inform you, Marion Hageman passed away on the 25th of August, 2024. We are beyond grateful for the impact Marion has had on Robinson Nursery over the many years he worked with us. His legacy will live on in all aspects of the nursery. He loved his customers, and it was evident in the relentless work he put in for each of you. His pursuit was one of thoughtful perfection; knowing it couldn’t be achieved on this earth, but he was certainly going to try for the sake of each stakeholder involved. He mentored me and my brother, Josh, from day one. We would not be the people we are today without his wisdom and encouragement.
Marion had an insatiable thirst for greatness and an unmatched intellectual curiosity. He helped us create a product and service that is highly respected in the industry. My brother, Josh, would always joke with him about writing a nursery sales book. Our “Golden Sales Nuggets” that we employ are the handy work of Marion. If you see Josh, ask him about one of the Nuggets. They really are gold. They primarily revolve around you, the customer, gaining some extra value. They show how thoughtful Marion was and the genuine care he had for each of you.
Josh and I were looking forward to attending the University of Oregon-Ohio State game in Oregon with Marion in October. That was a bucket list item for Josh and I. I can visualize the excitement coming from Marion in that moment, but that moment will have to wait. He now gets to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father. We will see him again. It’s not goodbye but see you later!
Marion truly embodied our mission of Growing People and Plants to Change the World. If you knew Marion, it’s a guarantee that he helped grow you and your business. We are so grateful for the life that he lived and at the same time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. If you get some time today, think of how Marion touched your life and say a prayer for his loved ones that are still here.
