The saddest part of this journey is losing the babies you’ve raised to predators. 💔

We lost our very first babies yesterday when a predator got into the coop and killed two of our guineas. We’ve poured so much love, time, and hard work into these animals making sure they trusted us, were comfortable, and had what we thought was the perfect, safe home.

As much as we love this homestead life, moments like this are heartbreaking. No matter how much you prepare, sometimes nature has other plans. Hugging our feathered babies a little tighter today and reminding ourselves that even the hard days are part of loving and caring for them. 🐓🩶

I FINALLY got a naked neck Polkie, and let me tell you… this little cutie is staying right here with me! 😍🐥

We’ve been waiting for one of these funky babies, and she is absolutely perfect. Between the naked neck and the crazy Polkie fluff, she’s just too adorable to let go. ❤️

We do still have 4 baby Polkies available for anyone interested! These little Silkie × Polish mixes have so much personality and the cutest hairstyles around. 🤪🐔

But this girl? Sorry, she’s my baby and she’s not leaving! 😂💕
