We processed our first pigs last week. We gave away some pork chops to friends in exchange for an honest review. Here is what one of them said:

"The flavor was excellent! We actually cooked yours and some from the store for comparison. The store meat was "stringy" and the fresh chops were tender. We also noticed the great flavor of the fat.. not gristly at all. Your butcher also did a good job of making uniform cuts which makes cooking better. "

Joe: “I will just as soon as I post this pic on my Insta.”
Turkey: “You’re a real jerk.”
Joe: “So I’ve heard.”
(After I untangled her stupidity, she was fine. I gave her extra feed just for the show.)

So last night about midnight, the wife and I start hearing a pig squealing like crazy, nonstop! Sandra fearlessly heads to the field. While myself thinking it’s aliens trying to abduct my neighbor’s cows again but are grabbing my piggie instead, head to get my gun and a flashlight. I’m ready to start an intergalactic war to protect my piggos. I make it outside and instead of aliens it’s just three of my fat pigs trying to get out their door at the same time and are now stuck. My wife is trying to gently push a 300lb pig out of the way to stop the blood curdling squealing that is still going nonstop. Farm life is fun and exciting and pigs are fairly dumb. But on the upside, we are safe from aliens!

We have some imposters in our chicken coop. But it’s cold out so we will let them chill out, er, “warm out?”
