What a fun afternoon exploring the creeks on Mount Spokane! 🌲💦
Despite a few persistent mosquitoes and a horse fly that seemed determined to join our adventure, we had a wonderful time wandering along the water and through the woods.
As usual, Evan had an impressive eye for mushrooms and managed to find a good number of morels, most still in great condition, along with a few Spring Kings! 🍄 We also came across several other fungi, including an old Chicken of the Woods and a few xerocomellus atropurpureus that we like to nickname “Zellers” since related.
One of the things I love most about these outings is that everyone finds something they enjoy. Enzo was happily following the creeks, studying how the water flowed, tracing its path, and examining rocks along the way. The rest of us were a little more focused on mushrooms (mostly 😂), wildlife, and plants.
Just a beautiful day of exploring, learning, and enjoying nature together. ❤️🌿🍄
