We're heading into the thick of shearing season! I love seeing all my customers, their farms and their families! I've been shearing now for other farms since my daughter was a baby so 13 years. During that time, the cost of my blades has gone from $10 a set to $30. The Shears I use have gone from $300 to $700. Gas has skyrocketed, tires have doubled, even the oil is use to lubricate my blades has doubled in price. When I charge a "travel fee" it doesn't just help with travel costs but also all the other costs that go into shearing. While i do try to keep my prices low, I've had to adjust over the years. I truly appreciate everyone who has been understanding :)
