Legacy Farm Christmas Trees

Legacy Farm Christmas Trees “ Our Legacy Is Your Tradition “ 3rd Gen. farm since 1960, with U-Cut, Gift Shop & Santa Events We also have warming fires, restrooms, and free hot cocoa.

Legacy Farm Christmas Trees began in 1961 when Roy and Cathy Marlow purchased the farm, each thinking the other wanted to buy a farm, when actually neither desired farming. At the time of the purchase it was one of the largest fruit producing orchards on Green Bluff and was known as Fruit Crest Orchard. Roy kept his day job sometimes to keep the farm operating, while Cathy worked daily in the orch

ard, pruning, picking and managing the sales barn. Cathy and Roy were very involved in the community as leaders in Grange, Horticulture Club, and the GB Church. Roy worked on the board for the Spokane County Environmental Impacts for soil retention, and many areas. In 1962, Roy and Cathy’s granddaughter, Lisa was born and she resided on the Bluff on the property spending most of her days working alongside her grandparents, Papa Roy & Nanny, whether an apple bin was her playpen while they worked in the orchards or later helping customers in the barn, Lisa grew to know and love every foot of the farm. Lisa and her husband Mike, resided in a home located in the back of the property, where they raised their family. In 1981, the apple maggot destroyed the apple industry, and at that time Roy and Cathy decided it was time to retire and had all the fruit trees removed. For the next 34 years they hosted the annual Cherry Pickers Trot Fun Run on their property, where the joke was Cathy had 4,000 friends up for a day on the farm! Roy passed away on the homestead in 2001, and Cathy followed after a brave fight with cancer in 2004. At the time of her death, her request was that the farm stay in the family and it was inherited to Lisa and her husband, Mike for a third generation. In 2006 after much discussion of the dreams Lisa & Mike wanted to see done with the farm, and Lisa’s love for the Christmas holiday the decision was made to begin planting Christmas Trees. Lisa and Mike wanted a destination that families could build traditions on with their families for choosing and harvesting their own tree. They also desired to impart on the children all the wonder and joy of the season and allow families to spend the day with a children's scavenger hunt, decorating their own sugar cookie, coloring while staying warm in the barn, playing reindeer games, roasting smores’ and more. Over the years, the farm has grown to include the most head-in-the-holes for photo ops, along with craft classes to include wreath making, and children's crafts, yearly Santa visits, and the love of the vintage trucks they own and name. It all began with Annabelle, a 1936 Chevy flatbed who has lived her whole life on Green Bluff with Lisa being the second owner. Currently, Annabelle, Annie, Willard, and Dolly, sit on the farm for local area professional photographers to enjoy year round for photo sessions and offsite events. Our Legacy Is Your Tradition

UPDATE:
First we want to thank everyone who applied by email, text and pm. We are closing the application process and will be reaching out for additional information to those who made the first selection.

𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠! 🚨 Help us tell our story!

We are looking for a 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 to share the beauty of the farm with the world. Farming is about more than just early mornings and hard work... it's about community, care and connection.

We have the content (beautiful sunsets, Christmas trees, vintage trucks, Santa events, photography and antique farm equipment surrounded with flowers), but we need someone to help us share it. We are looking for someone up to date on trends and experience managing social channels.

This would primarily be a "work from your device" remote job with occasional trips to the farm to capture events. Tasks would including creating and scheduling posts, increasing engagement, tracking analytics, etc. Basically all the behind the scenes tasks so we can focus on the farming.

Interested? Drop a comment below or tag someone you know that would be a great fit.

Post any questions you have in the comments as well

We will be going through the list and reaching out soon as we hope to have this in place before our busy season begins!

If you have a business page or content experience, make sure to mention it or tag it in the comments
