A few pretty buckets from a few weeks ago, the dahlias a on a little break from their first big flush but we’re still getting plenty.

We’ve been close to 90 degrees this week and I’m so looking forward for the cooler fall days, pouring sweat isn’t my favorite feeling but at least I’m sweatin’ the toxins out or demons as I tell Mattie 🤣

First year dahlia seedlings that earned their spots in the 2027 garden along with a beautiful muted clay colored zinnia that I will definitely be saving seeds from. The zinnia came from Erin Benzakein - Floret Victorian Wedding seed mix.

My friend Amy Haynes took a bunch of extra flowers home yesterday after helping me with the Stemz order and made this stunning arrangement today in the last photo. She captured the colors of the flowers perfectly.

We picked most of our sweet corn this morning and processed it for freezing then finished up with four quarts of fermented garlic dill pickles. Thanks Matty Ramirez for your help! Luckily we got it picked before the rain hit and was able to work inside while it was storming. Next up will be canning spaghetti sauce but I’m still collecting tomatoes and freezing them until I get enough for a nice batch.

One of my favorite seedlings, this gal is on her third year and definitely will be growing again next year. Super pretty combo of coral and peach petals with a puffy cranberry and deep yellow center, she is so whimsical and has a good vase life.

It’s time for sharing the second through fourth year seedling pictures

This gal tops out at about 6’ tall with nice strong stems and 4” blooms. An orchette that came from Mayberry’s Pink Champagne seed with raspberry coral petals dusted with creamy yellow and the collar petals have the creamy yellow dusted with cranberry coral. She’s a third year seedling that I hope to introduce in the 2028 growing season.

20th Ave & Baker Road is such a good ball dahlia, large bloom and a tall healthy plant. I’ve not yet met a dahlia hybridized by Rich Gibson Rich Gibson that I didn’t like.
