I haven't posted in awhile because I was out of town but now we have a rediculous amount of eggs! My husband had been restocking while I was gone. But since I haven't been posting we are overloaded! Come and get 'em! Free organic free range happy chickens 🐔!

Good morning from the Egg Fridge!

The fridge is stocked with fresh unwashed eggs from our free-ranging hens. We also have washed and refrigerated eggs available!

🥫 Check the pantry shelf while you're here—you never know what goodies might be available!

💛 Pay what you can (around $2/dozen helps keep the chickens fed), but if money is tight, please take what you need (2 dozen at a time, no questions asked). Bartering is always welcome too!

📚 The Little Free Library is open too, so feel free to take a book, leave a book, or simply browse. I found some kid/teen graphic novels which can help spark a love for reading and some absolute kid classics as well!

This is a post I never wanted to make 😢
Free if in need... I do mean that...
BUT please limit it to 2 dozen at a time and take from the refigerated eggs first. (My unwashed are in higher demand).

I never wanted to make rules and I wanted it to be self-policing. If in need you can even get 2 dozen a day if you dont have food. But I cant help people if I am wiped clean overnight every weekend. This is the 2nd or 3rd time that overnight I came back to 18 +/- dozen eggs taken from my fridge in one swoop. It is starting to feel suspicious.

I am just trying to cover my feed and also provide some free eggs to those in need. So I do not take that back. I want to give. But not enough people stop by for 18 dozen to go in one night, unless I am being taken advantage of. Message me if there is an extenuating circumstance so I can make accommodations.

Please do not take advantage of something that has brought me joy to do for my community.

I now have to put parameters and that breaks my heart. I never wanted this to happen.

It anyone needs eggs I have 4 dozen unwashed and about 10 dozen washed in the refrigerated fridge and I will have more tomorrow. And it is still free if in need. Just please leave some for the others in need (because I know a few people rely on it as well). And I will have about 8 dozen more after I go home for lunch.

One of those rare books that is just as magical for adults as it is for kids. It’s sweet, funny, and quietly profound. 📚 Book of the Day: Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam
If you liked the movie October Sky, this is the book it was based on! It’s a really inspiring story about growing up in a coal mining town and dreaming bigger than the world around you. It’s full of heart, determination, friendship, and that feeling of chasing something impossible just because you love it.
