The backcountry avalanche danger is currently CONSIDERABLE below 7500' and HIGH above 7500'. These are not the normal snowpack conditions that many are used to seeing in our area. Please exercise caution if skiing the backcountry. Ski with a partner and carry the proper safety equipment (beacon, shovel and probe). Check the current forecast from the Payette Avalanche Center:
